Fascinating Broadcast Recording From The Legendary Time Fades Away Tour Comprising Jack Nitzsche, Ben Keith, Tim Drummond and Kenny Buttrey, The Stray Gators had backed Neil Young on 1972 s Harvest, and would go on to do likewise on the tour during which its follow-up, Times Fade Away, was recorded live. Featuring previously unreleased cuts, until 2017 TFA remained the only Young album not released on CD, despite critical acclaim from most quarters. What would later become known as the Time Fades Away Tour began on 4th January 73 in Madison, Wisconsin; it was fraught from start to finish. Young would later describe it as one of the unhappiest times of his life and the worst tour of his career.

3 X CD SET FEATURING RADIO AND TELEVISION BROADCASTS 1974 1980 Having formed in 1968, it was not until 1974 that the band proper with Neal Peart joining Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to create the line-up that has remained in place ever since came to be. And just two weeks after Peart joined the group, Rush began their first US tour. On 26th August 74 the group played at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland , Ohio, a show recorded and broadcast by WMMS radio, which made it Rush s very first radio broadcast. It is this now legendary gig which forms the first disc of this set, alongside some bonus tracks which were recorded at the same venue a year later. The second disc here is home to an FM broadcast recorded at Holland s Pinkpop Festival in June 1979. Perfomed while the group were promoting their 1978 album Hemispheres, this rarely heard recording is included here on CD for the first time. The final disc in this collection featured the classic 1980 broadcast from the group, recorded at the Kiel Auditorium in St Louis, Missouri, on 13th February as part of their Permanent Waves Tour, and this recording remains arguably one of Rush s very finest live performances.

3 CD COLLECTION OF THE FINEST AVALABLE LIVE STEELY DAN RECORDINGS As extraordinary as the music of Steely Dan remains, the how and why of it all coming about is stranger still. The joining forces of two nerdy students - one an English Lit. major, the other a musical prodigy in the late 1960s could hardly be seen as the most promising recipe for success, nevermind a springboard for the creation of perhaps the most unique, creative, musically adventurous, enormously listenable and downright joyous run of albums in the entire history of pop music. But despite it all that was what the mighty Dan achieved during the 1970s and beyond, and as those records continue to inspire just about everyone who hears them, the mystery remains.

3x RADIO BROADCASTS ON 3 CDs - CAPTURING DIFFERENT ERAS OF THE CAPTAIN S CAREER Noted for his powerful singing voice with its wide range, Van Vliet also played the harmonica, saxophone and numerous other wind instruments. The group drew attention with their cover of Bo Diddley's "Diddy Wah Diddy", which became a regional hit. It was followed by their acclaimed debut album Safe as Milk, released in 1967 on Buddah Records. The first disc in this set concentrates on this period of Beefheart s career, featuring a radio broadcast of a live performance at The Avalon Ballroom in 1966, and a number of other tracks from various radio sessions from 1967 and 1968. By 1974, six albums in and frustrated by a lack of commercial success, Beefheart released two records of more conventional rock music that at the time were critically panned.

Disc one features an in-studio session recorded at and broadcast from the RCA Studios in New York. It took place just eight months after the release of his debut and as is evident that, even at this early stage in his career, Jackson had already matured into a strong live performer and superlative composer. Disc two boasts a show performed at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, in early spring 1974, and during which label-mate Linda Ronstadt, who was touring with Browne at the time, joins Jackson for a version of One More Song, a number by Jack Tempchin - the man who composed the lovely Eagles number Peaceful Easy Feeling. Disc three includes the full Soundstage performance Jackson Browne gave for the regular PBS TV series of concert broadcasts in 1976. Recorded at the WTTW studios in Chicago, this concert is augmented by two bonus cuts taken from Browne s appearance on Saturday Night Live the same year.
