B.I.T. stands for Back In Time…Instead of combining the best of analog modeling with hybrid synthesis, which we can see with the other Rob Papen synthesizers, B.I.T. focuses on Analogue Modelled Synthesis.
Picture a -Filter Bank- with 36 different Filter types and an XY panel which can also be recorded and played back in several different ways. Yes…that is already very cool, however, picture in your mind that you can also use it in combination with 2 other FX, which also have their own XY pad and this is all then polished off with a flexible Stereo Delay!
Mikron Phaser was modeled after the legendary Small Stone Phaser, a stomp box effect designed by one of our all-time heroes: David Cockerell. The effect was made particularly famous by the French composer Jean Michel Jarre who used it extensively on his recordings as a synthesizer effect.
Mikron Orbiter was modeled after the effects of the Eminent 310 Unique electronic organ: chorus, tremolo and ensemble. Of which the ensemble effect is by far the most famous, in large part because it is not only the Eminent Unique that uses it. The strings of the Eminent organ were such a hit with musicians at the time that the ensemble section was reused to form the core of the Solina String Ensemble (rebranded in the United States as the ARP String Ensemble).
Mikron Compressor is an easy to use compressor that can go from very transparent to warm and powerful. It has the same high quality sound as its big brother Big Blue Compressor. But its mode of operation has been compressed into only a few intuitive knobs. However, don’t let the looks deceive you.
Jaws is what we coined a ‘dynamic bitcrusher’. It has everything you would expect from a high-quality bitcrusher: bit reduction, sample rate reduction, a pre-amp, an input and output filter, and more. But it also features a host of modulation options. You can modulate the bit depth, the sample rate, as well as the mix. On top of that Jaws also has a resonant multi filter that you can modulate as well.
