Live At The Miss Black America Pageant is the 1972 album by The Moments. As the title and photos on the cover indicate, it was meant to be a live album recorded at the actual Miss Black America Pageant but in truth, it was completely recorded in the studio with the applause mixed in after the fact. sometimes not very well. The group also recorded Live At The New York State Womans Prison. They recorded many albums but gained much bigger success when they changed their name to Ray, Goodman & Brown and released "Special Lady". The is from a CD pressing released in 2006.

Kicking off with the wickedly salacious "Burlesque," Bandstand was the best of the late Family recordings. For a band that for the most part eschewed riffs and hooks, both are in plentiful supply here. More important, by the time of Bandstand's release, Family had reconciled the war between their art-rock and hard rock tendencies; that is to say, there is more of the latter and less of the former. So, the record doesn't have the internal stress of their earlier releases, but what it does have is Chapman shouting like he could take on the world and Whitney playing like he must have when he formed the Farinas in 1962. A corker from the word go.

Frumpy was a German progressive rock/krautrock band based in Hamburg, which was active between 1970–1972 and 1990–1995. Formed after the break-up of folk rockers The City Preachers, Frumpy released four albums in 1970–1973 and achieved considerable commercial success. The German press hailed them as the best German rock band of their time and their vocalist Inga Rumpf as the "greatest individual vocal talent" of the contemporary German rock scene…

A lesser known act among the Italian prog bands of the 70's and formed in early 1972 in Turin, Procession were an idea of singer Gianfranco Gaza. In April 1972 the band started to perform in local base, but the next month, with the help of artistic director Tuccimei Pino, they found themselves unsigned but performing before 50000 people at the biggest rock event of Italy, the Villa Pamphili Festival. In October Procession move to Rome and record their debut ''Procession'' within a week, distributed by the smaller label of RCA, Help.
This is a great find for lovers of guitar-driven hard prog, as the band features two talented guitarists (Roby Munciguerra, Marcelo Capra), though it contains a few suprises as well.Plenty of hard guitar breaks, some nice soloing but also a few dual guitar attacks makes ''Frontiera'' a classic rock release presented under a progressive scope…

This album has had over three decades to make an impact, and it says something for its staying power that, in the face of more recent, more generously programmed, and better mastered compilations of the duo's work, it remains one of the most popular parts of the Simon & Garfunkel catalog – which doesn't mean it isn't fraught with frustrations for anyone buying it…

On June 16th, 1972 a folk-rock all acoustic event called Acusticazo took place at the Teatro Atlantic. Gabriela, Litto Nebbia, Miguel y Eugenio, Leon Gieco and a young singer Raúl Porchetto played on that event. Raúl's performance of "Cortar el viento" was included on the album. For his first LP, a conceptual opus called Cristo Rock (Christ Rock), he was joined by Charly García (keyboards) and Oscar Moro (drums), along with the usual La Pesada staff: Billy Bond (mixing console and effects), Claudio Gabis, Kubero Diaz (guitars), Alejandro Medina (bass), Jorge Pinchevsky (violin) and Jimmy Marquez (drums). A string orchestra and a church organ were also used for the recording. Cristo Rock has an "Obertura" and eight numbered tracks. It is a strange but attractive album, full of climatic sounds and interesting playing; more noteworthy Gabis' wah-wah guitar.

After his days in Yes and a very brief stay in Bloodwyn Pig, Peter Banks started Flash together with lead vocalist Colin Carter, soon to be joined by bassist Ray Bennett and drummer Mike Hough. Former Yes-colleague Tony Kaye agreed to play keyboards on this one, more as a special guest than as a proper member. So, the final result turned out to be pretty similar to "The Yes Album", regarding the melodic sensibility and the sense of excitement portrayed in the performances, but with a major presence of jazz swing and a general tendency toward working on a more concise number of musical themes. These elements make the listener aware of the caliber of Bank's input for the forging of the Yes sound: something that should be more acknowledge than it usually is…

Trúbrot were an Icelandic psychedelic rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Mandala is actually a return to a more simplified sound for Trubrot, the band that once gave us a five-minute mini-opera based on Richard Wagner's Tannhauser. And it's sung in English. And while the title track does have a certain floaty mystical edge to it, thanks to some constantly spiraling (and massively flanged) string section, Trubrot often sound amazingly similar to early America on this album, adopting a very simple, very melodic pop sound on songs like "Drifting" and "Down By The Water," which even sounds like an America title! And Mandala is certainly filled to the brim with enough bouncy, catchy and dreamlike pop melodies…

Bob Seger closed out his Capitol contract with Brand New Morning, a singer/songwriter album quite unlike anything he had yet released. Following its release he moved to the Detroit-based label Palladium and returned to hard-driving rock & roll with Smokin' O.P.'s, the polar opposite of Brand New Morning…

The Kristian Schultze Set album, with the original title Overdrive, was initially released in 1972 on Tempo Records. Group members include Joe Nay, Pawel Jazerbski, Olaf Kübler, and Dusko Goykovich. It was an absolute exception in German jazz music and much sought-after in jazz and rare groove circles. This re-issue Recreation contains one additional, previously unreleased track with a sax and trumpet. The line-up for this album is simply called Kristian Schultze Set. All of Kristian Schultze compositions deny any rigid classification. His smooth keyboard-playing leads to an undreamt-of tension when meeting with the rough and tough electronic sounds of his Fender piano and synthesizer.
Kristian Schultze was also one half of the German New Age band Cusco; member of Snowball and Passport.

Speech is the fourth and last album by British band Steamhammer. While they were known for being a blues rock band, some said Speech was less blues and more psychedelic if not progressive rock. This is the 2009 remaster released by Repertoire and is different from the version they also did in 1991, as well as unique to the Japanese remaster by Yoshiro Kuzumaki done a year after this remaster.

John Prine's second album was a cut below his first, only because the debut was a classic and the followup was merely terrific. "Sour Grapes" showed Prine's cracked sense of humor and "Souvenirs" his sentiment. Even if it was the second rank of his writing, Diamonds in the Rough demonstrated that Prine had an enduring talent that wasn't exhausted by one great album.
