Polish prog rock band Disperse have premiered band new song Stay with Prog. It's the title track from the band's up and coming new album for Seasons Of Mist, due to be released on February 10, and the follow up to 2013's Living Mirrors album. "One of the very first demo tracks for our new album turned into Stay, " the band explain. "The song revolves around trust and staying true to yourself, no matter what. It is about opportunities – the ones we take and the ones we miss. Stay is also dealing with rediscovering beauty in places and things after we had stopped seeing it. As the album is dedicated to Rafał's (Biernacki, vocals/keyboards)mother, who passed away last year - this track is first and foremost about that dedication."

“This is our way of rewarding our fans for everything they’ve given us. What our music means to you is what it means to us. Art is an experience, and to us it reserves no room for competition, and the only accolade that matters to us is the place this holds in your heart.
Releasing Mesmer in this way has been right for us at this moment in time. We have grown immeasurably as people and as a band through the toughest recording process we’ve ever endured. We’ve been tested every step of the way and have come out the other side with something we are truly proud of. We didn’t want to keep it from you a moment longer than we had to. We felt we owed it to this album to try and think creatively about every aspect of the way people would experience Mesmer, like a gift from us to you that is being unboxed. We wanted to make everyone’s discovery of this moment special.”

Eternal Rituals represents a heavier side of Junius, who constantly surprise album to album, and song to song with their unique touches and flourishes. While their EPs are mostly forgettable, their previous 2 full-length albums had a core sound to them that Junius extends to this new album and yet manages to carve out a unique identity for it with enough musical adventure to keep you engaged throughout its short 45 minute duration. Songs like The Queen's Constellation and A Mass for Metaphysicans are true delights to return to over and over. Where do they come up with these song and long album titles? Overall this is their career best album since their stunning debut 8 years ago, a moving and tragic paean to the theorist Immaneul Velikosky. Fans of dark rock, indie music and 90's gothic metal are sure to find this a real treat.

From The Vile Catacombs isn’t just the coolest album name this side of Iced Earth’s Plagues Of Babylon (2014), it’s also Ra’s Dawn return, of sorts. Notwithstanding rather feeble debut Scales Of Judgement (2006) and admittedly far more stable sophomore effort At The Gates Of Dawn (2009), the German prog metallers, ever with a penchant for the lore of the ancient Egyptians, have taken their sweet time in creating album number three, and done so with nary a fuck to give as to what the critics may think. The album proves to an enjoyable listen as at eight tracks and just under 50 minutes it manages to fly by rather swiftly, an attest to its better qualities as I find myself wanting more.

The band worked with record producer Brendan O'Brien, who they collaborated with on their 2009 album Crack the Skye. The songs were recorded as originally arranged, then they revisited each track to edit and refine the sound. Drummer Brann Dailor completed his drum tracks and began drafting lyrics while guitars and bass were being recorded by other band members. Scott Kelly of Neurosis and Kevin Sharp of Brutal Truth both appear as guest vocalists on Emperor of Sand. Kelly has appeared as a guest vocalist on every Mastodon studio album since Leviathan (2004).

Mastodon - Blood Mountain (2006). After springing into existence fully-formed with the progressive post-sludge (or whatever) of Remission, Mastodon injected more melody and ambition into its accomplished and worthy follow-up, Leviathan. Their proggy tendencies became even more prominent on Blood Mountain. Released on September 11, 2006 in Europe and the day after in North America, Blood Mountain did extremely well. Total Guitar ranked it the number one album of 2006, while magazines like Kerrang! and Metal Hammer thought it was just was epic as Leviathan, if not better. It was also featured on many websites' and magazines' 2006 countdowns. It was also Mastodon’s third highest debut on Billboard 200, at #32, behind Crack the Skye and The Hunter. Guitarist Bill Kelliher considered this album to represent the earth element, and at the time, bassist Troy Sanders said it was "sonically the best album we have done"…

Psychotic Waltz is a progressive metal band formed in El Cajon, California in 1988. The first incarnation of the band was under the name Aslan, after a character in the novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. With money earned from local shows and T-shirt sales, they recorded a self-titled demo tape in 1986. After discovering another band with the same name, they changed theirs to Psychotic Waltz and recorded a new four-song demo in 1988. In 1990, they debuted with their independently financed debut A Social Grace, which was released in Europe via a licensing deal with the German label Rising Sun Productions. The album was very well received in Europe, being named album of the month in some European magazines..

Formed in the late 1980s, British progressive metal band Threshold combined their influences of heavy metal and progressive rock to craft their own unique sound which was a far cry from the commercial sound of the time. "Wounded Land" was released on GEP Records in 1993, and was hailed by many as the best debut album of the year. The albums "Psychedelicatessen" (1994), "Extinct Instinct" (1997) and "Clone" (1998) followed and were accompanied by tours with combos such as Dream Theater, Psychotic Waltz and Pain Of Salvation…

Katatonia have achieved legendary status in the realm of Swedish metal, with an evolution not dissimilar to English counterparts Anathema and Paradise Lost. One element that has remained intact throughout their various transformations is their masterful use of atmosphere, even if the compositional component has been largely streamlined by now. "The Fall of Hearts" is thankfully a largely adventurous offering, moreso than anything the band has recorded in many years. This latest by the morose quintet features plenty of surprising songwriting choices, including some of the their most bold musical explorations in quite some time…

Royal Hunt is a progressive metal band based in Denmark, founded in 1989 by keyboardist Andre Andersen. The band is known for creating melodic music with a progressive and symphonic flair. They made a huge success during mid-90s with vocalist D.C. Cooper on their classic albums "Moving Target" and "Paradox", mainly in Japan and Europe.
With Andre Andersen on keyboards, singer Henrik Brockmann, bassist Steen Mogensen, drummer Kenneth Olson and session musicians playing guitar, Royal Hunt was set to record their first album, "Land of Broken Hearts". This was a basic rock set featuring Andre's classically influenced melodies…
