With the advent of rock and roll, Norman acquired his first guitar at the age of seven. His early musical influences were Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Lonnie Donegan. In these early years, Norman's parents moved around the country a lot which resulted in him going to nine different schools, and living in various locations around England, such as, Redcar, Luton, Kimpton and Nottingham. By 1962 however, the family had moved back to Norman's mother's home city of Bradford. Approaching his twelfth birthday, Norman started at St. Bede's Grammar School where he was to meet Alan Silson and Terry Uttley, future members of Smokie.

Secos & Molhados' debut album is an eccentric mashup of Brazilian folk, art pop and prog sensibilities, with frontman Ney Matogrosso and the gang blending together an invigorating mixture of influences into a product which was simultaneously undeniably Brazilian in character but at the same time celebrated a vision of Brazilian culture far from the dour conservativism of the military junta of the time. Matogrosso's startling singing voice is applied to various poems, whilst the musical backing reminds me at points of Audience on a Brazilian vacation. Add an injection of glam androgyny and you get a feast just as rich as the one on the cover.

Beth Hart makes one hell of an entrance. It’s May 4th, 2018, and the Royal Albert Hall is in blackout. For the next two hours, Beth will hold you spellbound, as she plays over 20 songs spanning her entire career…

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released worldwide on 26 October 1981. The album consisted of Queen's best-selling singles since their first chart appearance in 1974 with "Seven Seas of Rhye", up to their 1980 hit "Flash" (though in some countries "Under Pressure", the band's 1981 chart-topper with David Bowie, was included). There was no universal track listing or cover art for the album, and each territory's tracks were dependent on what singles had been released there and which were successful.

The fifth album by In The Labyrinth, called Samas Antaral, is finally being released after a delay of almost 25 years! The songs, of which a vast majority are instrumental, were recorded mainly in the early '90s, hence making it a parallel project to their first album 'The Garden Of Mysteries'. But there are also a few tracks or parts of tracks recorded as early as 1973 and '74, while some bits and pieces have been added more recently…

Condition Critical, Quiet Riot's follow-up to their number one, multi-million-selling commercial breakthrough Metal Health, is nearly identical to its predecessor. Not only do they repeat the hard-driving pop-metal hybrid to the last detail, they even throw in another Slade cover. Like on Metal Health, the Slade cover on Condition Critical ("Mama Weer All Crazee Now") is the finest moment on the record – it's the only time the riffs have a solid hook and the melody is memorable. However, the rest of the record is well produced and sounds good, even if the quality of the songs is somewhat poor.

1980's Eastern Wind sports a quicker pace that demonstrates that de Burgh can sing songs outside of ballads. It was this album that helped him gain worldwide recognition, thanks in part to it's huge success in the Scandinavian countries (especially Norway). Although the album does include some slower love songs, the overall appeal of Eastern Wind contains some musical jaunts as opposed to his usual collection of tranquil pieces. The lovely "Sailor" is fine proof that de Burgh can contour his voice at will. "Shadows and Lights" is a pure example of the manner in which de Burgh creates atmosphere by way of aromatic phrasing.

Flor De Loto is a present Peruvian Progressive rock band, led by the flautist Johnny Perez. The outfit brillantly blends elements of Seventies Progressive rock with Andean music. This style might as well remind of Jethro Tull, if Ian Anderson's band ever felt like emigrating to South America! Flute and guitar riffs are omnipresent, which enhances the charm of this elegant and joyful music.

Lóki?, released in 1974, was the first solo effort of former Os Mutantes member Arnaldo Baptista. Probably reflecting Baptista's own mood and feelings at the time, this album is decidedly slower, darker, and more melancholic than the Os Mutantes albums ever were. The lyrics are often quite sad and confused, though it has to be said that on several occasions Baptista shows that he had preserved his sense of humor from the Os Mutantes years. Musically, Lóki? is dominated by Baptista's typical way of singing and his excellent piano playing (similar to Elton John during his glory years in the '70s). Six out of the first seven tracks are really good…
